I have been wanting to try altering one of the new Maya Road houses. This is the Bungalow. It comes with the accordian book, which worked perfectly for me to spell out Harmer Family. The chipboard alpha, butterly rub-ons, owl rub-ons, tree chipboard pieces, alpha rub-ons and key rub-ons are all Maya Road. The paper line is SEI Dill Blossom. I also used Ranger crackle paint for the roof and glimmer mist on the chipboard book, door, windows and alpha. The buttons are Foof-a-la.

Lauren loves to sing and dance- and most of the time she does it on her tippy toes. I love this picture, so I decided to make a sign for her wall in her bedroom. Lots of Maya Road, some Ranger, Cosmo Cricket, BasicGrey, and October Afternoon. Maya Road just came out with the butterfly chipboard set and Butterfly stamps. The cool thing is that the large butterfly stamps in the set match up to the chipboard. I covered “dance” in Glossy Accents by Ranger and added sequins. The sign was made by using an 8×8 chipboard page from a Maya Road chipboard album.

Well yesterday our school district ran it’s 1st “Run for Fitness”. James’ class has been practicing during school for weeks. It’s just been a chance to work on physical fitness and put some emphasis on that for the kids. James is in 1st grade and his grade ran 1st- at about 8:30am. It was cold and windy and he has a cold right now, but he was such a trooper. He did the whole 1.2 mile run and he did a great job. It was a lot of fun to watch.

ahh sort of anyway. I have been somewhat productive on layouts this week and loving all of the color. I have been wanting to scrap this picture of DS for a long time. I am so happy with how it turned out. I love the new Maya Road Trees and Heart and Home chipboard sets. I wanted to use some bright colors, so the tent would POP! This one feels like it tells a story. DS used to love to sleep in his little play tent in his bedroom on the floor. His feet would stick out and there wasn’t a lot of room, but he loved it anyway. My layout pics are not quite square, but due to all of the chipboard and glitter, I didn’t want to scan this one. Happy Friday!

Just wanted to post that I will have something published in the Aug/Sept issue of Paper Trends! This is my first time being published in that magazine and I am very excited. I am a subscriber and they really do a great job showcasing each project in beautiful color photos. I can’t wait to see it.

Well with all of the great “Boy” paper lines this year, I had to indulge in a James layout today. The paper line is by CherryArte. I also used lots of buttons and stars here. Some Maya Road, Hambly, Fontwerks and Art Glitter. If you look closely you will see that I used some of the new Maya Road sheer ribbon in plaid. I also used multiple ink colors on my “five” and covered them with Glossy Accents by Ranger. Love that look! This is one of my favorite pictures of my DS from 2 years ago.

Well I have been hard at work on some new Maya Road projects, but I can’t post them until next month. For now, I received that super awesome April Sweet Pea Scraps kit that I ordered. I made this layout last night with the beautiful new Graphic 45 papers, butterfly and bling from the kit. I also used Maya Road New York Lowercase alpha, chipboard butterflies, chipboard scroll frames and Trinkets ribbon. I used several ColorBox ink and chalk colors blended together on the title.
Well most of the time, I am behind the camera. Recently James received an award at school and his teacher took this impromptu picture of us. I love it. It made me realize that I haven’t had a picture of just the two of us in a while. He is such a sweet, special little boy. I am so happy to be his momma. The paper I used on this layout is from Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI). I loved it as soon as I saw it. It is very striking. I decided to do some cut out work so I could show more of it on the layout. I also used Maya Road, Close to my Heart, American Crafts and others.
