Well, my DH decided to take this last week off, unexpectedly. It was a nice surprise. We stayed busy with the kids and spent time at the beach, the movies, the parks and other local attractions. I bought something called Arnold Grummer’s Angel Wings (used in paper making) and attached them with Mod Podge to the frame, letters and hearts on this mini album. I did something similar to this before in a project I did with mulberry paper. The effect is very cool and gives lots of dimension. There are also several different Maya Road goodies here- Trinkets flower’s, ribbon, scrolls II, vineyard chipboard, hearts chipboard and Philadelphia lowercase letters. Also, BasicGrey, Chatterbox, some gems, Rain Dots and Making Memories epoxy pieces. Lauren is my happy girl- at least most of the time. I wanted to make a book about it.

I made this for Brad for his birthday. It was hard making a book and not adding a flower to it.
I love this 2-ring layer chipboard book by Maya Road. I added h-u-s-b-a-n-d using MR chipboard letters that I covered in dark blue paint and glitter paint. On the inside, I added some “pages” by punching holes to some MR sheers. This gave me more room for journaling. I love taking pictures, but this was a hard project because it’s not easy finding pictures of us that don’t have kids in them. I even added one of those in. Most of the time I am the one taking the pictures. It made me realize that I need to capture more “just us” moments too. It’s hard to ask a stranger to take a picture for you, but now that James is old enough to take pictures of us, I think he can help with that.

Can’t let today go by without posting since it is DH’s birthday. The kids are very excited to celebrate his birthday. This is the time of year that I am especially happy to be a Californian. It’s March, it’s 6pm and it’s sunny and beautiful outside. It’s BBQ time! Now if we could just get over our family colds and ear infections…

Well long before I was on their design team I was a subscriber. I am not on their design team any longer, but I LOVE their kits. I think the April 08 kit is one of my favorites. In fact I think this kit is one of the best I have seen all year. I scooped one up and Kristin says they are almost out, so if you want one- go get one before it is too late. I just love the butterflies and the vintage feel of it. Some of the paper is from Graphic 45- a new company. I love the red rhinestones too! I always love bling on my layouts and projects. I think I may just use this kit for an upcoming Maya Road project. Here is the link: http://www.sweetpeascraps.com/pages/kit.php?id=53

I had so much fun with this page! That is one awesome Hambly overlay I am using right over my patterned paper. You also see the new Maya Road Scrolls II and a crown from the Royalty Chipboard Set. I used some awesome brads from Making Memories too. The alpha is also Maya Road- Philadelphia Lowercase. Can’t forget the buttons- I love buttons for a splash of color. The felt flowers were purchased from a shop on Etsy. This is my beautiful girl on her 4th birthday!
