Creatively Speaking

Still trying to get my kiddo’s well.  James is home with a sinus infection and a sprained ankle.  I thought I would post another layout that I did a week ago or so.  My happy girl dancing around in the front yard.  Notice the new Maya Road house chipboard from the Heart and Home collection.   There are also buttons, which I love to use on my layouts for a splash of color.  The butterfly stamps are adorable and I love em.  They are from Scarlet Lime Kits.  There is also some Hambly and KI Memories.  I’ve been working on one of Maya Road’s new sheer albums this week and hope to have it done by the weekend to post. 

Well both kids are sick!  James has a new cold and Lauren has been sick for 3 weeks.  She is on her 2nd course of antibiotics for her 2nd consecutive ear infection.  The worst part about this time of year is how sick everyone seems to get.  This year seems to be especially bad.  At least we were off of school this week.  However, it hasn’t been the most fun since they have not felt great and it has been raining most of the week.  We have another big storm coming this weekend.  I love the rain when I don’t have to be some place, but I think I will be happy for spring and some warmer weather.  I thought I would post a page I recently did of James losing his 1st tooth.  He just lost his 2nd tooth last weekend and he was just as excited as when he lost the 1st. 

This was the 9th project that I made for CHA-W.  The pages spell out M-O-T-H-E-R.  The show is now over and I can’t wait to get some more of these new Maya Road goodies in my hands.  Lisa Pace took some terrific pictures of the booth, which was so nice to see since I couldn’t be there.  The paper line for this book is The Wonder Years by Daisy D’s.  Lauren has been sick for 2 1/2 weeks.  We licked one ear infection and she got one in the other ear right after, so now she is on antibiotics again.  Hopefully, she will get well soon.   

Something fun I made for Valentine’s. The wreath was bought at Target for $2.50. The chipboard hearts are Maya Road as is the arrow. The arrow was made from the MR chipboard arrow coaster book. To extend the arrow, I used 2 arrow pages and cut the arrow off of one of the pages. I covered it with Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels. The paper line is Maybe Baby by Daisy D’s. I also used the matching ribbon and chipboard letters to this line. The white ribbon is Michael’s. 

Thought I would post another of my Maya Road CHA-W projects.  This is their adorable round scallop chipboard book from the Motifs Coaster Book Set.  The house on the front is from their new Heart and Home chipboard set.  I covered it with Ranger crackle paint.  I love the stuff.  It gives such a fun effect.  Also used, MR rub-ons, ribbon, and ribbon slide.  Other goodies are several different colors of Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, bulk buttons, and round crystals.  I don’t have pictures of the inside pages yet, but I will add some later.  The paper line that I used was Mellow by BasicGrey. 

This is one of my Maya Road projects for CHA-W. I don’t have pictures of the inside yet. I thought this paper line, “Once Upon a Time” by DCWV would be perfect for this album. There is a special park that I take the kids to that looks like a huge castle, so those are the pictures on the inside. I added glitter to the MR star chipboard pieces and Glimmer Mist. The buttons are new by Maya Road.

Well I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, but I was busy making a Valentine project which I will post soon.  So here I thought I would show you the new Tree Chipboard Book.  This book is so cute!  The tree trunk on the front page actually comes unattached so you can alter it and then attach it.  It also has a cut out heart shape in the trunk.  I decided to add pictures from a very fun Easter party and hunt that we went to last year.  My bird on the cover is painted with Ranger Crackle paint.  This stuff is awesome and so easy to get that crackle effect.  The metal flowers are from the MR Trinkets Elements Collection.  They are perfect for stacking, which is what I have done here.  All of my chipboard on this book was covered with Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.  I have several colors of it because I love using this on chipboard.  It has a yummy shimmer to each color.   You will also see some of the new MR chipboard Scrolls II, trinkets ribbon, chipboard trees, buttons, trinkets blossoms, and butterfly beads.  The paper and cardstock stickers are from the Lynden collection by Scenic Route.

Here is another sneak peek at a new sheer book by MR.  I love these sheer books.  The light shines through them so nicely.  James, my 7 year old has loved trains since he was 1.  Any kind and all kinds of trains.  I printed up several of the pictures I have taken of him either on, in or playing with trains and made a special book to remember it all.  He has been putting together intricate GeoTrax layouts by himself since he was 3 years old.  The buttons in this book are new by Maya Road as well.  These are a great staple to have.  They are part of the Trinkets Collection and they come in 6 different color schemes.   The paper line I used here is Obscure by BasicGrey.  Don’t forget to VOTE today!   

The Maya Road DT were all asked to do a canvas for display with our projects at CHA-W.  So here is mine.  The new sneak peek item by MR are the metal flowers that are part of the Trinkets Collection called Trinkets Elements.  I painted the background lavender and then covered it with a gliiter glaze, crackle medium and white to get the look.  The patterned paper is the Samantha line by Crate paper.  The swirl chipboard is the Vineyard line by Maya Road.   That’s MR ribbon as well.  I had to add some bling too.  

Today’s Maya Road CHA-W peek is this adorable mini book I made about Lauren.  The bird bead on the front is from the new MR Trinket Collection.  In addition to the book itself, I used the MR Philadelphia Lowercase letters to spell her name and included them in between the pages.  The letters are covered in Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels and I punched a flower eyelet with my Cropodile for the chain.  The chipboard is from MR Birds of a Feather and the thin Vineyard sheets.  I also used MR ribbon, Making Memories brads, MR blossoms chipboard, and MR crown chipboard.  I painted the edge of each page with acrylic paint to stand out.  Have a good Sunday.
