I just got the o.k. to post the new 2008 catalog for Maya Road.  YEAH!  You won’t believe all of the new items.  Here is some serious eye candy for everyone.  I am only posting new items for today- not existing Maya Road products.  I am also happy to have 3 projects featured in it.  My crown chipboard album on the front cover, my sheer tab album about James and his love of trains and my sheer frame album with Lauren as a baby.  To see the full catalog of new and existing products- http://www.mayaroad.com/2008CHAWinter.htm  Enjoy!

Well I have been knee deep in CHA projects, but I am finally finished.  Look for those peaks as soon as I get the o.k. to post them.  I have decided to feature a kit club on my blog every month.  This month it’s Paper Posies!  I love this kit club.  I was a subscriber for a year and have thought about joining up again because they are just my type of kit.  It’s packed.  It has 2 alphas- which I love and it is always so well coordinated.  As an added bonus this month, they have included some Maya Road chipboard frames.  What more could you want?  It’s fabulous.  Here’s the address: http://www.paperposies.com

I’d love to be able to post some of the projects I have been working on for CHA-W, but I can’t just yet.  Maya Road has some awesome new products coming out and I am having so much fun working with them.  For now, I am a little worker bee trying to get it all finished in time.  It’s amazing how time consuming it all is.  Each time I make an album, it’s my new favorite.  I spent all day Sunday working on an album about James and a big part of the last few days working on an album about Lauren.  It’s the most fun, when I am having a creative streak and then it’s hard to stop.  Tonight I took a break to give my back and arms a rest (still in physical therapy) and I hung out watching the premiere of American Idol.  I enjoy it more once the finalists are chosen, but it’s still mindless fun right now.  Check back in for those sneak peeks.

Thought I would post a project I made last summer and I haven’t posted yet, especially since I can’t post my Maya Road CHA-W projects yet.  This is a clear acrylic album that is strong enough to stand on its own.  I bought a sheet of acrylic from Home Depot and Brad cut it down to 6×6 for me.  I used my Crop-o-dile to punch the holes and add the rings.  Lots of rub-ons, chipboard letters, buttons, ribbons, felt letters, Primas and more.  Just a fun mix.

I can’t believe my baby is 7 years old today!  He was so excited to get to school today.  Normally it takes a bit to get him up and dressed, but his daddy, sister and I woke him by singing Happy Birthday to him and he was practically jumping out of bed.  I am going to bring treats to his school this afternoon.  We will spend some time with his best friend this afternoon and then a small family party and presents from us tonight.  We are having his party on Saturday at the bowling alley.  He is very excited!  I am excited not to have it here since it has been so rainy.  Most of the work is done by them.  So nice!  There is always something more special about today than just his birthday.  I remember it as the day I first became a mom and it’s just a special day all around.

I had to drive to Morgan Hill yesterday (about 10 miles away).  I thought it would be safer to take the surface streets, which is a pretty straight shot on a normal day.  However, there are a lot of fields between the two towns, which of course flooded.  There were countless road blocks in Morgan Hill that you couldn’t know about until you actually tried to drive through them.  I was sent on a detour a few times by police, however there were more hazardous roads than they could get to.  I took these pictures from my drivers seat when I was trying to get to my appt.  The top picture is me driving down the street looking at a field in a residential area.  It looks like a lake.  Around the corner from there, I had to drive through this intersection which looked like a fast flowing creek at the very least.  There were many streets like this.  I was happy to be home and wouldn’t have gone out if I didn’t need to get to this Physical Therapy appt.  That storm has moved through and we are being pounded with another one at the moment.  We went from no rain to too much rain in a short amount of time.  At least we don’t have to be anywhere today.

Well I don’t remember the last time we had a storm like this.  It has been a while.  Being in the San Francisco Bay Area means we are right in the thick of it.  Water has been pouring off of my roof for hours.  Add the wind to that and it is a pretty strong storm.  This is the 2nd of 3 storms in a row for us.  We will have another tomorrow, but todays storm is the strongest.  I am just glad that the kids aren’t back in school yet.  We are sticking close to home for most of the day.
